Liz oversees the daily operations of Gecko's European Unit; managing curriculum development strategic partnerships in Europe, and Erasmus+ funded projects which allow us to send students abroad for work experience.

Mike Owen

TRIC Midlands, UK 

Mike Owen has been involved in broadcasting since he was 13 years old. He has worked for the BBC and commercial radio and won two of the Radio Industries ‘Oscars’. He has interviewed a range of celebrities from Sir Tom Jones to Prince Charles. Mike has been in the management of events across the UK - over 50 major events since 1990 involving over one million attendees. Artists include Spicegirls, UB40, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Lionel Ritchie, Madness, The Script. Most recently he has been involved with the development of the UK’s number one pop event The Fusion Festival stars include Jessie J, The Wanted, The Vamps, Union J and Ed Sheeran. He was TV’s Jeremy Kyle’s first producer.​

Prof. Dr. Gernot Gehrke ​

Hochschule Hannover, University of Applied Sciences and Arts, DE

Prof. Dr. Gernot Gehrke works as a full professor for Management and Marketing in the Events Industry since March 2014 and was the first of now two professors in the Hannover BA-program on event management. He conducted numerous event projects and was responsible for many event productions. His main teaching areas are marketing and management of event projects. He is especially interested in the German system of dual education in the events industry. Before he joined Hochschule Hannover he was responsible for the management of the internationally recognized congress Medienforum. NRW (2006 - 2012) and the TV-festival Great TV (2006-2013). From 1999 - 2013 he worked as a Managing Director at the European Centre for Media Competence and the LfM Nova GmbH. During this period, he was responsible for projects on education and qualification for different target groups financed by the State of North Rhine Westphalia, The Federal Republic of Germany and the European Commission (EFRE and ESF)

Tommy Neumann

Thomas "Tommy" Philipp Neumann is a business administration graduate and event manager. He is a former hockey player and general manager of TSV Mannheim Hockey. After his career as a player and the university degree from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (Mannheim) and the University of California (San Diego) he became a full-time managing director in 2012. In 2014 he moved to the cultural sector and worked for the Filmfestival in Berlin (Berlinale). Other projects as an event manager include the organization of show and trade fair appearances (i.a. Baselworld, Frankfurt Buchmesse). During his time in Berlin he also worked in the startup industry focusing on marketing and sales. In 2016 he founded the project joblife which deals with the future of work and challenges for personal development and education.
Since June 2018 Neumann has worked as project manager for the German Entertainment Technology Association and primarily coordinates the Erasmus + projects.​

Kaspars Steinbergs

Ekonomikas un kulturas augstskola, LV

Kaspars is the director of the Economics for Culture College "Cultural Diplomacy and International Management" and the candidate for a Doctoral degree in Management Science. He has more than 5 years of experience working with students from different fields, he has collaborated with several creative and cultural industries and organizations, especially in the field of audiovisual media. 

Dita Pfeifere

​Latvijas Kulturas darbinieku biedriba, LV

Dita Pfeifere graduated from the Latvian Academy of Culture with a master’s degree, where she studied Cultural Management. Her previous work experience includes working at: The Publishing House JUMAVA, the Latvian National Culture Centre, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, the University of Economics and Culture, and the Riga City Council Orchestra RIGA. Currently she is working as Lecturer and Head of Culture Management Department at the Latvia Culture College.
 
She has led various projects of cultural and educational events - incl. Concerts, Conferences, Seminars, Exhibitions, etc., and worked at multiple national scale cultural events project teams, such as the “Latvian Song and Dance Festival” project team, the “Latvia School Youth Song and Dance Festival” project team, the “World Choir Olympiad” project team, and others.

Katja Špegelj

​Fakulteta za komercialne in poslovne vede, SI

Katja works as Education and projects organizer and Head of  FKPV's career center. Her work covers  the organization of study activities and care for postgraduate students, from enrollment and registration, to graduation, leading info days for students and advising students on work practice options. Within managing the Study affairs committee on all three study levels (undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral) she organizes the graduation process on all three levels of study. In last three years she actively cooperated on state projects and international (Erasmus +K2) projects. So far she has worked on several state projects within Slovenian Ministry for education and one EU project - Developing skills for future jobs. Currently, she leads three EU Erasmus+K2 projects: InVent (Tourism),  Circeco (Circular economy), Ahos (Sports).

Tanja Jakopič Rojec

European Cultural and Technological Center Maribor, SI

Tanja Jakopič Rojec: Cooperation  with young people and mentoring for young volunteers and employees, participation in the international projects. Coordinator of youth programmes and activities for young people.

Amalia Romero

Cesur, ES

Amalia Romero is the International Department Director at Cesur. She has a Degree in Law by the University of Granada (Spain) and holds a degree in International Business and International Relations. She has a large experience in the international field, since she worked in the past for the Andalucia Agency of International Promotion and in Sao Paolo (Brazil) as a market analyst. She currently leads different EU funded project in the field of VET.

María Rubio

Fundación Coremsa, ES

María Rubio has a Degree and a Master in Translation and Interpreting Studies by the University of Málaga. She has also studied and work at the Institut Libre Marie Haps (Brussels) and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (North Carolina, USA). He different stays abroad (Belgium, Finland and United States) has given her an open mind to work with partners abroad. She speaks fluent English and French. She has also a large experience coordinating exchange programs.
